Low Battery — The Most Common Blink (3 Blinks)

Three blinks when you try to hit your RAZ vape = the battery is too low to fire the coil. That's it. Not broken, not empty — just needs a charge. We see this question come in dozens of times a day, and the answer is always the same: grab a USB-C cable.

The 3-blink pattern is universal across every RAZ model — TN9000, DC25000, RX 50K, and VUE 50K all use it. The LED flashes red three times, then the device shuts off and refuses to fire until you plug it in.

How to charge your RAZ vape:

1. Grab any USB-C cable (the same one you use for your phone works fine).
2. Plug it into the port on the bottom of the device.
3. The LED will pulse or glow while charging. Solid light = fully charged.
4. Wait until the light stays solid, then unplug.

Why Is My RAZ Vape Blinking While Charging?

If your device flashes continuously or pulses a specific color when plugged in, do not panic. This is standard functionality — the LED is confirming the battery is accepting power.

• Pulsing / Breathing Light: The battery is successfully accepting a charge. Red pulse = low, blue pulse = mid-range, green or white = nearly full.
• Solid Light (No Blink): The device is 100% fully charged and ready to use. Unplug it.
• Flashes once then goes dark: Check your cable first. Loose USB-C connections are the #1 cause. Try a different cable.
• Rapid flashing when plugged in: Your charger might be too powerful. High-voltage laptop chargers (like MacBook USB-C bricks) can trigger the RAZ overcharge protection circuit. Switch to a standard 5V/1A phone charger instead.

Short Circuit Protection (5 Rapid Blinks)

Five quick flashes in a row = the device detected a short circuit and shut down to protect itself. This is a safety feature, not a death sentence. The internal protection chip cuts power the instant it detects an abnormal resistance reading between the battery and coil. That's the chip doing exactly what it's designed to do.

Common causes:

• Liquid on the contacts — condensation or a small leak can bridge the connection points.
• Pod not seated correctly (VUE 50K) — if the pod is slightly off-center, the pins don't align.
• Debris in the connector — pocket lint, dust, or dried liquid in the USB-C port or pod slot.

How to fix it:

1. If you have a VUE 50K: pull the pod out. Wipe both the pod contacts and the device contacts with a dry cotton swab or tissue.
2. For all-in-one models (TN9000, DC25000, RX 50K): wipe the mouthpiece area and the bottom USB-C port with a dry cloth. Blow gently into the airflow slot to clear condensation.
3. Wait 10 seconds, then try again.
4. Still blinking 5 times? The internal coil connection may be damaged. Time to replace the device (or the pod, if you're on VUE 50K).

Overheating & Overpuff Warning (10 Blinks or Continuous Flash)

Ten blinks — or a non-stop rapid flash — means the device is too hot or you've been pulling on it too long without a break. The built-in puff timer cuts power to protect the battery and coil. This is the second most common blink code we get asked about, especially during summer months when devices sit in hot cars or pockets all day.

Why this happens:

• Chain vaping — pulling back-to-back without pausing. The coil heats up faster than it can cool down.
• High ambient temperature — left in a hot car, in direct sunlight, or near a heat source.
• Prolonged single draw — holding the inhale for more than 8–10 seconds triggers the puff timer cutoff.

How to fix it:

1. Stop vaping immediately. Don't try to push through the blinks.
2. Set the device on a flat, room-temperature surface.
3. Wait at least 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
4. Take a short test draw. If the light is solid or blinks normally (1 blink = activated), you're good.

• Use a 5V/1A charger or your phone's standard charger. Avoid fast chargers (15W+) — they won't damage the device, but they won't charge it faster either since the internal circuit caps at 1A.
• If the light doesn't turn on at all when you plug in, try a different cable first. USB-C cables fail more often than vape batteries.

Model-Specific Troubleshooting

RAZ TN9000

The TN9000 has a 650mAh battery and a 12mL pre-filled tank rated for 9,000 puffs. It's a compact, all-in-one unit.

• Blinking after 5,000+ puffs? That's normal near the halfway mark. The battery capacity means you'll charge it 6–8 times over the device's life. Three blinks = charge it up.
• Flavor getting weak but light is fine? The liquid is running low. The TN9000 doesn't have a separate "low liquid" indicator — fading flavor is your signal that the device is nearing its end.
• Blinks once on every draw then stops producing vapor? The coil is burnt or the liquid is gone. Replace the device.

RAZ DC25000 / LTX 25K

• Blinking 3 times but you just charged it? Make sure the USB-C cable is firmly seated. Some third-party cables don't click into the DC25000's recessed port properly — the device thinks it's charging but the connection is intermittent.
• 5 blinks right after charging? Rare, but it can happen if condensation built up in the port while charging. Unplug, dry the port with a tissue rolled to a point, wait a minute, try again.
• LED turns on but no vapor? The airflow sensor might be blocked. Cover the bottom airflow slot with your finger, give it two quick draws to clear any condensation, then try normally.

• Device feels warm after 10+ consecutive hits? The 1000mAh battery generates more heat under rapid use. Give it 30 seconds between every 5–6 draws. The overheat cutoff will trigger at 10 blinks if you push it.

• 5 blinks with a new pod? The pod might not be clicked in all the way. Pull it out, check for any plastic film or sticker on the contact pins, then push it in firmly until it clicks.
• Blinking with no pod installed? That's normal. The device detects "no pod" and blinks to let you know. Insert a pod and you're set.

When to Replace Your RAZ Vape (Not Every Blink Means Broken)

A blinking light doesn't always mean toss it. But sometimes, it does. Here's how to tell the difference. Most blink codes are fixable — charge it, clean it, or cool it down and you're back in business. The real question is whether the device has hit its natural end of life or if there's a quick fix left.

Keep using it if:

• 3 blinks = charge it, problem solved.
• 5 blinks = clean the contacts, try again.
• 10 blinks = cool it down, works after a rest.

Replace it if:

• You've charged it but it still blinks 3 times and won't fire — the battery cell is spent.
• Flavor tastes burnt or metallic — the coil is done.
• Vapor production is noticeably thinner even with a full charge — liquid is nearly empty.
• The device doesn't respond to anything — no lights, no vapor, no charging indicator. Likely a defective unit.
